In August 2022, our flagship skill program, Socasemp ITW (In Training With), hosted a four-week makeup training with Coach Tola Banks. At Socasemp Initiative, we believe that when you empower a woman, you empower a community. That month, we saw this belief come to life, beautifully and emotionally.
Socasemp ITW connects aspiring female entrepreneurs with industry experts. In doing so, it bridges the gap between raw passion and professional mastery. This special edition focused on the beauty industry: Socasemp In Training With Tola Banks.
Here is a look back at an unforgettable month of learning, growth and life-changing empowerment.
Makeup Training with Coach Tola Banks
For this edition, we opened our doors to 30 passionate women eager to carve out a niche in the beauty industry. To give them top-tier education, we partnered with the phenomenal Coach Tola Banks, who anchored the training.
Over four intensive weeks, Coach Tola took the participants on a comprehensive journey. She carefully crafted the curriculum. First, it covered the foundations of makeup application. Then, it advanced into complex, highly sought-after techniques.
However, the goal was not just to teach these women how to apply makeup; it was to build entrepreneurs. That is why every module took a business-first approach. By the end of the four weeks, all 30 women had the skills and confidence to start their own profitable makeup businesses.
Empowerment Without Barriers: A 100% Free Initiative
One core philosophy at Socasemp Initiative is removing the financial barriers that hold talented youths and women back. So we are incredibly proud that the entire four-week training was completely free of charge.
From the daily sessions to the practice materials, the beneficiaries paid for nothing. As a result, our participants could focus entirely on their growth and hone their craft without financial stress.
An Emotional Grand Finale: Exhibition and Awards Day
If the four weeks of training were inspiring, the final day was nothing short of magical.
We closed the program with a vibrant Exhibition and Awards Day. There, the participants showcased the skills they had gained over the month. They transformed models with flawless, professional-grade makeup.
But the true highlight of the day was the graduation ceremony. We wanted these women to leave with more than knowledge. So Socasemp Initiative gave each participant a makeup start-up kit to start their business immediately. Furthermore, we celebrated their dedication with official certificates of completion and special awards for outstanding performance.
As we handed out the start-up kits and certificates, emotion filled the room. Most of the participants cried tears of joy, relief and profound hope for the future. For many, this was the push they had been praying for. Indeed, it was the exact stepping stone they needed to change their financial future.
Looking Ahead
The Socasemp In Training With Tola Banks program was a resounding success. It shows what can happen when women get access to the right resources, mentorship and opportunities. Thirty women walked into the program with a dream. Four weeks later, entrepreneurs walked out, ready to take the beauty industry by storm.
