At Socasemp Initiative, we are thrilled to announce our upcoming project: SICC, the Socasemp Initiative Creative Contest. SICC will give young African creatives a stage, a reward and a real chance to earn from their craft.

Africa is brimming with vibrant energy, untold stories and breathtaking talent. From digital arts and fashion to tech-driven design, writing and multimedia, our youth are redefining the continent’s future. Yet, despite this wealth of talent, many young creatives lack a platform to showcase their work. They also lack the financial backing to turn their passion into a sustainable livelihood.

We believe that creativity is one of Africa’s greatest untapped economic resources. That is why SICC matters so much right now.

The Power of the Creative Economy

To understand why SICC is so critical, we must first look at the numbers. In Nigeria alone, over 4 million creatives work actively in various fields.

This sector is no longer just about hobbies or pastimes. Instead, it is a massive engine for economic growth. The creative industry offers a viable route to self-employment, especially where traditional jobs are scarce. Even more importantly, successful creatives often become employers themselves. They hire managers, assistants, marketers and other talents.

So, by empowering just one creative, you plant a seed that can employ and uplift an entire community. SICC is the water that nurtures these seeds.

What is SICC?

SICC is an upcoming, large-scale project for young, diverse talents in Nigeria and across the African continent.

However, SICC is more than just a competition; it is an empowerment platform. Our goal is to engage young creatives and give them a grand stage for their unique skills. Through SICC, we aim to discover hidden talents and celebrate their diversity. In addition, we will provide the financial rewards and visibility they need to keep earning from their craft.

In short, we want to shift the narrative from “struggling artists” to “thriving creative entrepreneurs.” It is the same goal behind all our projects.

Our 5-Year Vision: Impacting Over 1,000 Creatives

We are dreaming big because the youth of Africa deserve nothing less. As we prepare to kickstart SICC, we have set a clear, measurable and ambitious goal.

Over the next 5 years, SICC aims to impact, showcase and help at least 1,000 creatives in Nigeria and across Africa.

For example, winners may receive prize money, mentorship, exhibition opportunities or tools of the trade. In each case, SICC will be a springboard that launches these young men and women into successful careers.

We Cannot Do This Alone: A Global Call for Sponsors

To bring the SICC dream to life, we need your help.

Socasemp Initiative is currently seeking financial support to officially kickstart the SICC project. Therefore, we are issuing a global call to action. We invite individual philanthropists, corporate organizations, brands and international donors in Nigeria, across Africa and around the world.
