Thank you for stopping by. I’ll like to share with you briefly, the inspiration behind SOCASEMP INITIATIVE. I hope you are inspired.

My name is Eunice Okoh. I am an independent Business Resource Agent and Investor. I Create, Acquire, and Manage Resources while identifying Talent, Material, and Opportunities, and investing in them. But behind all of this is a lady who has a burning desire to help people become the best version of themselves – who they are meant to be.

It is said that we are who we are because of where we are from. Hence my Life’s experience and journey led to the inspiration behind the birth of SOCASEMP INITIATIVE 9 years ago which became a reality 3 years later. I have always loved, been drawn to, and inspired by the world of arts and by the inexhaustible skills and talent that we see every day in people, especially the young people in Nigeria. Yet, going through my own hell and high waters, I could identify with and relate to the depression and frustration that comes from having dreams without relevant support, or having a talent/skill with lack of expression.

Being a very creative person I always had a bank of creative ideas, and this too; you may call it instinct, but I just knew that I always had a clue as to how things work or would work. From a young age, people always sought and asked my opinion on important subjects and I would always have helpful answers and procedures that worked, and so with time that helped me develop into a very good strategist. However, there was so much I wished I could do but lacked the opportunity to do so. I remember how much I chocked on my dreams and desires. It hurt so bad. I was so upset with the status quo; I wanted to change it! I used to wish I had someone somewhere that I’ll tell all my dreams, ideas and plans to, and this person will hold my hand, take me through each step I needed to go through till fruition, but I had no one like that. In fact, what I had were people like me, who were equally creative and talented in their diverse skill areas, and we would spend time discussing our dreams and plans, earnestly looking forward to the time we will all be living our dreams independently and collaboratively. But what was all that if we couldn’t make the connection to the right opportunities that we needed? It was a very tiresome circle.

But as time went on, things got much better for me. However, I had begun to realize that what pains us is a clue to what we were born to heal. Then I decided that I was going to be the change. I began to dream differently! I started to think Solutions! I began to look into the details on how to reach out with solutions to people who are walking in the same road I walked on or even worse, those with great talents/skills but without platforms for relevance, those who upon given an opportunity to better their abilities will take it and rise with it.

I also started seeking ways to work with those who are fueled with the same passion of making a positive impact in their world and though Independent in their rights, those whose paths are aligned with mine in reaching out with this vision.

This is because I want people to own their dreams, own their visions, own their ideas, yet be able to freely collaborate independently with other independent visions and shine together. I always prefer collaborative relationships, partnerships, and environments, where we can rise, reach and surpass our respective goals while working together. Hence everything I create, I create along the idea of collaboration, to the end of also contributing to the success of those that I partner with.

So 6 years ago, I was engaged in a conversation with an old friend who had a similar passion as mine which led to us launching out with the first project. We started by training some of the young teenage girls of the Little Saints orphanage on a few skills for a month and then mobilized more Entrepreneurs to train there again the following year, affording the girls more skill options to choose from.

So finally, there it all began as a personal annual Impact project 6 years ago with about 50 students in the first year and about 70 in the next year, we threw off the limits in the third year when we were to organize a training for 200 people in the Makoko area in Yaba Lagos, but with a whooping response of over 1,000 people (even till the last day of our training), we were moved to stretch ourselves to take in and train 250 of them. We could have done more but being that we were running on budgeted personal funds, and to do more will require more funding which wasn’t available at the time, we could only do the much that our funds could cover.

However, that helped us to see and understand that there are a lot of people who need what we have to give, and that with more resources and strategic partnerships we can create more opportunities that are in line with our vision for human empowerment, sustainability, and progressive development. This is what has inspired this movement to go all out as much as we are supported, in delivering valuable impact and platforms for relevance to our beneficiaries, our Nation and Continent at large.

My goal is to be a blessing, and to positively inspire and impact lives, my nation, and my world. I hope that we can work together to make this a reality. I look forward to a delightful response and a prospective partnership with you.
